Frequently Asked Questions

 

  • Do you offer short breaks?  Yes 3 night minimum stays are available to book throughout the year (excluding July and August)

  • Are the arrival days flexible?    During July and August we have set Friday and Saturday starts as indicated.  However outside of these months arrival and departure days are very flexible.   

  • How much deposit do I need to pay?  An initial 20% non refundable deposit is required at the time of the booking.  

  • Can I book online?  Yes all you need to do is click the book now on the top right of the page.

  • How can I pay?  Payments can be made by credit/debit card.  We also accept payments by BACS.  Please contact us for further details.

  • What time can we arrive?  Your barn will be available for checkin between 4-6pm on the day of arrival.  We can arrange an early checkin ( excluding July and August) subject to availability and prior arrangement.

  • What time do we have to checkout?  We request that you vacate the barn by 10am on the morning of departure in order to allow the housekeeping team sufficient time.

  • Do you have Wifi?  Yes each barn has a high speed fibre to premises internet connection making gaming, streaming and keeping upto date with events no problem.

  • Where should we park when we arrive?  As you turn left into Helscott Barns you will see a parking area on the right. 

  • Do you provide Towels and bedlinen?  Yes we provide all bedlinen and one handtowel and one bath towel per person.  We ask that guests bring their own towels for the beach and hot tubs

  • Are the barns child friendly?  Having a child of own we know just how hard packing for a holiday can be, so we have tried to help.  Each barn has plastic cutlery, plates, cups.  Rose Barn and Granary Barn has been fitted with a baby gates.  We can also provide highchairs, travel cots, pottys and trainer seats if required , just remember to select them as an extra when booking.  Many guests have also found the childrens channels on the Sky TV package to be a great help.  

  • How far is it from the beach?  We are just 1.6miles from Widemouth Bay.  The bay is the perfect spot for a day spent surfing, splashing and discovering rock pools.

  • Are there any restaurants nearby?  The Weir Bistro is 1.4miles, open for breakfast, lunch throughout the year and dinner during July and August.  The are also a number of pubs and restaurants along the coast road leading from Widemouth Bay.

  • Do you allow dogs?  Yes we couldnt bear the thought of you having to leave some of the family at home.

  • Where is the nearest supermarket?  Morrisons and Lidl in Bude

  • Can we have our shopping delivered?  Yes please select delivery times of 5pm onwards (on the day of arrival)

  • Do you have recycling facilities?  We have a commerical waste collection service and ask guests to place all mixed recycling (washed) in the large wheelie bin and clean empty bottles in the glass bins. 

  • What if I need to cancel?  All bookings are non refundable, we do recommend that guests take out sufficient independent holiday insurance to cover them should they need to cancel.
